Mass Spectrometry in Medicine

This talk will examine the principles behind weighing molecules, and seeing how that can impact on medicine. Aspects of targeted analysis for determining metabolites in newborns, recreational drugs in party-goers, immunosuppressant drugs in transplant patients, and tissue differences in surgical procedures will be discussed.

The speaker is Mike Morris who is senior director for mass spectrometry research at Waters Corporation in Wilmslow and is a visiting Professor at Imperial college.

Time: 6.30pm at the Vale Inn as usual. All welcome, no charge. Arrive early to get a good seat.
